Voting Machine for Blind and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis People

In this paper, we document our initial research into a voting machine designed for individuals who are blind or have ALS. Those with ALS experience a debilitating disease that immobilizes various body parts, leaving some unable to move or speak, and even incapable of moving their head. Despite this, they are still required to participate in elections. Unfortunately, the current system relies on visual logos, forcing them to rely on others to cast their votes, which may result in selecting the wrong candidate. To address this issue, we propose a solution in the form of a brain wave sensor-based voting system, allowing voters to hear audio versions of each candidate's logo through a headset. The system recognizes a blink at a specific moment as a vote.
