Power Decoupling Using Inductor In Triple Active Bridge

The rise in electricity demand has led to new solutions like distributed generation. It has always been difficult to integrate such distributed energy resources (DERs), and numerous approaches have been investigated to do so. Due to their various potential uses in EV charging systems, DC microgrids, and the integration of renewable energy sources, isolated DC-DC converters are growing in popularity. The Dual Active Bridge is a very promising method for integrating DERs (DAB). DAB is capable to integrate only two sources and if threes sources/loads are there then the system becomes bulkey and expensive. Hence, due to its various benefits, multiport isolated DC-DC converters are popular for integrating different energy resources. This paper discusses the Triple Active Bridge (TAB). The equivalent circuit is discussed along with its mathematics and Matlab simulation. The issue regarding the decoupling power flow is addressed, and a hardware-based decoupling solution is proposed.
