Verification of 10 GB Ethernet MAC Core using Loopback Bringup Testcase

This research study presents the verification of Ten Gigabit Media Access Control (10GB MAC) core by performing a loopback bringup test using Universal Verification Methodology (UVM). The loopback interface is typically used for testing and debugging purposes, as it provides a way for software to send and receive data over the network without having to send the data to another host. The Ethernet loopback bringup testcase is a crucial step in verifying the functionality of Ethernet devices. The test involves routing data back to the same device, allowing the Ethernet interface to transmit and receive data within the same device. This test is performed to confirm that the Ethernet interface can perform both transmission and reception of data integrity. This method has validated to be very useful while addressing complex digital systems that are created in any application. The objective of this paper is to confirm the basic functionality of the Media Access Control (MAC) core and to increase the effectiveness of verification process to ensure that it meets the specified requirements before moving on to more advanced testing.
