A Novel ANN Controller for Speed Control of BLDC Motor using MATLAB Environment

Brushless Direct Current Motors (BLDC), because of their improved speed and torque characteristics, high efficiency, limited energy loss, prolonged operational lives, noiseless operation andother benefits have been replaced with several other types of DC motors. The motors have several methods to control the speed. For instance, a proportional integral derivative (PID) controller can be used to attain accuracy and a stable controller using a control loop feedback mechanism. The major drawback of proportional integral derivative (PID) is the sudden change in the load torque because of undesirable speed overshoot. The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is implemented with a speed control algorithm for BLDC motors in this research work. The ANN is trained through machine learning by using Pythonto attain a stable speed. The performance of the speedcontrol using ANN and the results are shown to be accurate with the desired output waveform when compared with those other control PIDs in terms of their noise or disturbance. The results are obtained using MATLAB-Simulink.
