A Low-carbon Campus Sightseeing Car Powered by Cryogenic Liquefied Air

The team designed a campus sightseeing car that uses minus 196 degrees liquefied air expansion for work, and completed the functional component design of three layers and product modeling of “air expansion engine + low temperature power generation + photovoltaic power generation”, which can be used to replace the electric vehicle powered by lead acid / lithium battery. Students ranked first authorized a parameter design software of air-liquefied campus sightseeing vehicle, and independently developed a small model car, which can carry a distance of 54 meters, and the on-board energy utilization efficiency is >15%. Take the actual working conditions of the university of the team as an example to analyze energy saving and emission reduction benefits. Each new sightseeing vehicle is filled with 50L liquefied air every day, and can load 8 people to drive around the campus for 27 times, saving electricity of 3.62kWh, equivalent to reducing CO
2
emission of 2.89kg; using temperature difference, can generate 0.178kWh electricity every day for 3 LED lighting for 3.7 hours to meet the demand of night driving; the air liquefied vehicle emits 15-25°C low temperature air, which can create a cool riding environment and avoid using electric driven fans and air conditioners.
