Electromagnetic Waves Effects on Biological Materials

The roles of electromagnetic waves (EMW) in communication is continuously increasing in the atmosphere. Now, we live in the blanket of electric fields due to increase in the number of transmission towers around the colonies, villages, and cities. These towers emitted the high-frequency EMWs in the atmosphere. In this manuscript, effects of high-frequency EMWs on the biological materials are studied. The electric fields are determined around the mobile phone transmission towers. The penetrated electric fields are also determined inside the biological materials. The specific absorption rate (SAR) inside the materials is computed at various depths of human beings. After comparing the computed data with the international safety limit, it is concluded that 30 m distance from the mobile phone transmission tower is more harmful to the health of biological materials. The distance from 30 to 50 m is less harmful than the 30 m distance. After 50 m distance, the value of SAR represents that it may be safe for the life of biological material’s tissues. The results concluded that people should keep away at least 50 m from the mobile phone transmission tower.
