Seismic Performance Analysis of 110kV HV Circuit Breaker and Internal Manipulating Devices

In order to study the seismic response of the circuit breaker and its manipulating devices under earthquakes, this paper used ABAQUS software to simulate and analyze a 110kV high-voltage (HV) SF6 circuit breaker. And the influence of structural opening and closing states was studied. Firstly, the structural dynamic characteristics were analyzed, and then 7 groups of ground motions that conform to the site demand spectrum were selected and inputted into the model to obtain the dynamic responses of key positions. The seismic response of the circuit breaker as a whole was analyzed, and the relative displacements in the manipulating devices related to the electrical performance were calculated. The research shows that the overall seismic response of the circuit breaker is basically not affected by the opening and closing state. Under 0.4g ground motions, the minimum safety factor of the insulator stress at the pole root is 3.83. The closing of the circuit breaker has a certain influence on the seismic response of the manipulating devices. After closing, the relative displacement response between some key points increases due to the dynamic influence of the moving and static contact connections.
