Feasibility Study on the Use of Ester Insulating Oil Transformer for Offshore Substation

With the continuous improvement of safety, reliability, economy and environmental protection requirements of offshore substation, it was urgent to find new insulation materials to improve the performance of transformers for offshore substation. Based on the analysis of the feasibility of the application of ester oil transformer for offshore substation, the applicability of natural ester and synthetic ester was studied in this paper. Through the performance comparison of natural ester and synthetic ester and the application risk analysis of transformers for offshore substation, suggestions on the selection of ester oil were given in this paper, which can guide the application of ester oil transformer for offshore substation.
