N-Rich Biomass Carbon Derived from Pine Needles as Anode for High-Performance Lithium-Ion Batteries

The lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) as significant energy storage devices, requiring better anode materials with higher capacity and faster charging capability. Biomass carbon has been proven to be a highly superior materials as anode of LIBs due to its structural versatility, environmental friendliness, and considerable economic value. Herein, the hierarchical Nrich 3D-carbon framework (NCF) is synthesized by carbonizing pine needles as the advanced anode for LIBs. The hierarchical NCF structure offers high electrical conductivity, high surface area, and a well-defined pore structure that facilitates ion transport and storage. Moreover, the incorporation of N into the carbon framework enhances its electrochemical performance. Thereby, the assembled coin and pouch cells exhibit good cycling performance, demonstrating its practical application potential of NCF-based anode for high-performance LIBs.
