Impacts of electric vehicles on low-voltage distribution networks in Malta

With the rise of the Electric Vehicle (EV) market is the fastest-expanding sector of transport electrification. The adoption of electric transportation through the incorporation of electric vehicles (EV) may reduce voltage problems brought on by integrating solar energy systems (PV) due to increased electrical energy loads. In the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, on a real Low Voltage (LV) network, this study delivers the first-ever EV investigation on the Maltese islands. Data profiles for EV charging and real smart meter 15-minute resolution are considered. The methodology employs the Monte Carlo method to provide a stochastic framework for evaluating the effects of residential-scale EV integratio.
