Optimization of Transformer Life Loss and Distribution Operation Considering Flexible Charging Prices for Electric Vehicles

As more and more electric vehicles come into use, the harmonic pollution generated by the access of their charging facilities to the grid will have an impact on the hot spot temperature and service life of distribution transformers. The influence of a large number of electric vehicles charging behaviors on distribution transformers under an electric vehicle charging strategy was studied, and a transformer hotspot-life loss assessment model was established by MATLAB according to IEEE standards. An optimized charging strategy based on JAYA algorithm is proposed to minimize the life loss of transformers to meet users’ charging needs. Through simulation experiments, the influence of electric vehicle charging on the service life of the distribution voltage generator under different penetration rates is analyzed. Through the data results of simulation experiments, it can be seen that the optimized charging strategy can reduce the life loss of the distribution transformer by up to 46.04%, and the proposed intelligent charging strategy can effectively reduce the life loss of the distribution transformer, which verifies the feasibility of the life loss optimization charging strategy based on JAYA algorithm.
