Non-contact Charging Structure with Fixed Directional Magnetic Plate Structure for Electric Vehicles

The wireless power transmission for electric vehicles is primarily faced with the following three challenges: magnetic field leakage, low transmission efficiency, and low power density. In this report, a sort of non-contact charging structure with fixed directional magnetic plate structure for electric vehicles is proposed and then successfully validated. This structure has been verified by performing simulation and experiment. By combining the wireless charging magnetic field of an electric vehicle with the requirements of a mechanical structure, it achieves the conduction of the magnetic field in a specific direction based on fast charging of electric vehicle by mechanical means. Not only does it increase the coupling magnetic field between the transmitting coil and the receiving coil, it also improves the mutual inductance value and reduces the self-coupling magnetic field of the coil, with the magnetic field leaking to the external space in particular. While increasing the transmission power density, it contributes to the leakage of the magnetic field being reduced significantly.
