Fault Location Method of Bistribution Network Based on Heuristic Splitting Algorithm

A heuristic separation algorithm-based traveling wave detection method is proposed in view of the severe mixing of waveforms of fault traveling waves in distribution network and the difficulty in identifying the position of wave front in case of high-resistance grounding fault with low slope and low amplitude of wave front. Firstly, use wavelet analysis to decouple the initial fault traveling wave signal, then use heuristic division algorithm (abbreviated as BG algorithm) to detect the sudden change point of the fault traveling wave, and use threshold method to accurately locate the traveling wave front. In addition, a new double-end traveling wave distance measurement method that is not affected by wave velocity and line length is derived based on the transmission characteristics of the line and traveling wave, which improves the accuracy and reliability of traveling wave fault location results.
