The Ningbo-Zhoushan Power Internet of Underwater Things

The Ningbo-Zhoushan power internet of underwater things (NZIoT) is a large-scale, cross-regional wired seafloor observation network designed for long-term underwater monitoring. It is currently under construction and is set to be deployed by the end of 2023 in Meishan Bay and Fengmenkou of Ningbo, China, as well as Huangshaju of Zhoushan, China. NZIoT is an advanced energy communication network designed to transfer energy, collect and transmit marine environmental data, providing vital information about the marine environment to scientists and ocean professionals. The system consists of various observation nodes, including junction box, digital branch unit, and planar type autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) docking and charging systems. NZIoT utilizes multi-module stacked energy conversion systems and digital branch systems to ensure system reliability and efficiency. Through this system, scientists can conduct long-term, continuous observation of the marine environment, providing valuable information for marine research and management.
