A Novel System based on Artificial Neural Network for Heart Disease Classification

Adult mortality is mostly caused by cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Every year, a large number of fatalities globally are caused by CVDs. According to studies, males are more likely than women to acquire CVDs. Heart problems are quite common in CVDs. With the purpose of predicting cardiac disorders in their early stages, several researchers are now developing prediction models. In this research paper, we have proposed a novel artificial neural-network based system to determine the presence of heart disease. The proposed system consists of two stages. In the first stage, the Chi-square method is used to reduce the heart disease dataset features from 14 attributes to 6 attributes. In the second stage, the ANN classifier is used to diagnose the heart. Comparing the proposed model to some existing models and has shown promising results.
