DST-VII based Multiple Transform Selection Algorithms for Versatile Video Coding

Discrete Trigonometric Sine Transforms of type 7 (DST-7) recently got popular in coding of video. There is a direct relation between DCT-2 and DST-7 transforms. The relation permits joint computation of these two transforms for certain sizes of transforms. Joint computation yields fast algorithms to be incorporated for DCT-6 and DCT-7. This paper deals problem of DST-7 & DCT-8 approximations based on DCT-2. DCT-2 contains multiplication by a band matrix that has less no. of coeff.’s which are not zero per row. The Proposed solution preserve gain in coding by using MTS algorithm and minimize required no. of multiplications.
