Performance Analysis of Top-Hat Transform in the NIR Spectrum

In this paper, we proposed the performance analysis of the top-hat transform in NIR spectrum fusion. The Climatic conditions affect the quality of an image by means of loss of information, the fusion of visible and NIR spectra assists to retrieve the lost information and the quality of the image. The fusion process contains several traditional methods like DWT, DCT, UWT, DCWT, CT, and ST. Our fusion model is based on a top-hat transform that enhances the unknown objects in the dark background. The NIR spectrum is fused with the visible spectrum to obtain more details in the fused image. Initially, the visible spectrum is applied with the top-hat transform to obtain minute features. Concurrently the NIR spectrum is bid with the top-hat transform. The results of the top-hat transform are fused. Then the top-hat fused result is applied to the visible spectrum. The enhancement of the fused images is calculated by some of the quality metrics like PSNR, and entropy.
