An Effective Body Posture Management System using Novel Intelligent Crutch Tool Mechanism

Physical therapists have been using clinical reasoning to create systems that would allow them to respond to the ever-changing needs of healthcare and rehabilitation facilities quickly, effectively, and efficiently. Walkers are crucial tools that support the recovery process. For gait alterations and imbalances brought on by a variety of conditions, such as lower limb surgery or neurodegenerative changes, the use of a walker is advised, especially in the initial stages of recuperation. In this work, a device has been developed that aids in maintaining optimal balance for patients using walkers. Sensors and a GPS module are included in this smart walking tool. By providing haptic feedback, this device will automatically alert walkers when they put extra pressure on a particular side. This model also integrates with a MEMS sensor-based automated fall detection system that, if the sensor's threshold value is reached, will automatically relay the patient's current location to the carer or doctor. The inside lighting of this walker is automatically adjusted depending on the environment. This model benefits people to rectify their body posture without causing excessive pressure on the body parts.
