Multi-objective Optimization for Optimal Design of CMOS Ring Oscillator

This paper represents the design of ring oscillator (RO) utilizing the multi-objective binary cat swarm optimization (MOBCSO). Here, nine stages of the CMOS inverter are considered to construct the RO circuit. The parameters taken for the design are oscillation frequency, phase noise and power dissipation. The RO is designed utilizing the gpdk090. The MOBCSO-based design of the circuit oscillates at 2.005 GHz, and the phase noise achieved is -86 dBc/Hz at 1MHz. The power dissipated is 78.5 µW.
