Analysis of Flexible Aircraft Design Using Reduced Order Modelling

It is generally known that manual calculations of an aircraft's design characteristics using mathematical modelling can occasionally be impracticable, and this continues to be a challenge for researchers. In the aviation business, several intricate equations are used to simulate the fundamental building blocks of an aeroplane. Euler angles such as body-fixed velocity, pitch, yaw rates, and bank angles need to be included in the modelling equations. However, the skill of the designer is necessary for the formulation and analysis of such complicated equations. In this paper, a functioning aeroplane is created using a reduced-order model. The MATLAB 2022b software platform is used to determine the Euler angle parameters. From various experiments, it has been observed that the step and impulse response for the normal and reduced order transfer functions are closely similar. Moreover, the gain margin and phase margin are also approximately the same for both models.
