Spectral Efficiency Analysis Using Underlay Cognitive Radio Transmission over Rician Fading Channels

The unlicensed users utilize a frequency band with the licensed users with no adverse interference on the licensee, this can be achieved by the cognitive radio (CR) technique. This study examines how effectively underlay CR transmission improves spectrum efficiency. We specifically calculated generalized area spectral efficiency (GASE) parameter assessment and design of underlay CR transmission. The ergodic capacity of primary and secondary users in underlay CR transmission over a Rician fading channel was initially described in closed-form expressions. Further, the GASE performance of the underlay CR transmission is examined mathematically in relation to the interference restriction on the primary receiver. Finally, all the MATLAB simulations are exactly intact with the theoretical analysis.
