Geographical Information System Based Handloomers Location Tracking

Geographical Information (GI) refers to the unique, reputed and special product of a geographical area associated with a particular community. Each geographical state of India is renowned in the production of its handloom works. Andhra Pradesh is known for various types of handlooms such as Dharmavarampattu (Anantapur), Uppada (Kakinada), Venkatagiri (Nellore), Mangalagiri (Guntur), Madhavaram sarees have petu border with jacquard or Zari pallous (Cuddapha) to name some. Now-a-days customers are purchasing the goods from retail companies. So in-order to provide the direct contact between the handloom workers we ought to bring a GIS based tracker for the handloom workers so that everyone may know where they are exactly and contact them directly and may know the exact prices of the clothes. This clearly improves the living standard of the Handloom workers and helps them to sell the woven clothes directly to the people. As the number of weavers are decreasing day by day this may give them some sought of boost up in the industry. Existing apps such as ‘E-Dhaga’, GoCoop, Odikala provide weavers information. This project collects longitude and latitude of the handloomers and stores them appropriately. The project also focuses on representation of the handloom weaver data (i.e name, address, contact number) on the map. Cost of products and sorting the acquired data according to the price, quality, quantity and displacement will be provided.
