Implementation of Smart Energy Management and Control Using IOT

The traditional power grid is basically an association of various power systems elements which had certain short comings like load shedding, black outs and intermittent power cuts, also no proper monitoring which leads to heavy gap between demand and supply. To overcome this problem, the smart grid is proposed. The raspberry pi and a MIT application are utilized in this suggested system to monitor and control demand side management for electricity appliances. Customers can easily arrange the turn on and off of an appliance remotely whenever and wherever by utilizing the MIT mobile application. The Raspberry Pi serves as a micro controller and it is the system's primary component for real time monitoring and controlling. The hardware implementation for controlling the loads at the customer is carried out and the energy utilization by the customer is also monitored. This makes it simple for the user to check the output by using the MCP3208 as an analogue to digital control.
