A Novel Comprehensive Solution to Preserve Environment by Optimum Tuning of Electrostatic Precipitator

The environmental preservation as per study survey conducted by ‘Health Effects Institute’ in 2018 concludes that Million people will die by 2050 if this process is not being addressed immediately. To address this issue Environmental norms became strict. The Thermal power plant uses BE type Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP). Also this type of ESP is known as Plate type extensively used in Thermal Power plant. It is one of the noble technology to charge particles. It has ability to capture submicron Particles most efficiently. This Paper analysis the basic working phenomenon, its construction and types of ESP. Also it discuss some strategy for maintenance of flue gas temperature and velocity aspects. In this paper an input is given to R&D and Industrial experts by discussing different factors and its relationship which are affecting performance of ESP and suggesting various approaches to solve various problems to preserve the environment. This paper is contributing some parameters of ESP, common faults occurring in ESP and its solution by performing experimental analysis and its characteristics of ESP to get optimum performance with a focus on efficiency improvement by ESP tuning. This Paper has data based on R&D study conducted by us in Adani Power Maharashtra Ltd. (APML) with a focus to preserve the ecological and environmental balance for the benefit of mankind.
