Performance Study of 84.5 kWp Grid Linked SPV System

A rapidly growing sector of India's renewable energy sector is solar electricity. As of 1 June 2022, the country's installed solar capacity was 56.951 GW. The Indian government's early target of 20 GW capacity for 2022 was met four years earlier than expected. The performance evaluation in this article and specifications of a 84.5 kWp grid linked rooftop SPV system at one block in VNIT campus at Nagpur, India, is described. This city is located at the center of the Indian subcontinent. The location is situated in latitude 21.12°N and longitude 79.05°E. The precise measurements values of the system parameter is matched with the result gained by modelling the system using PVsyst 7.16. Auditing the system's performance is vital for identifying variations from the expected value and for maintaining the higher system efficiency. Using the outcomes of the simulation, it is discovered that the above system's design can generate 135 MWh of energy yearly. The actual Annual Performance Ratio (PR) is 73.65% against estimated PR of 80.3%, Annual Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF) of 14.89%, Final Yield (YF), Array Yield (AY), Reference Yield (YR) etc. calculated using PVsyst. Over the span of its projected 25-year operation, the 84.5 kWp would save 2641.295 tons of carbon dioxide.
