Application of Park's Vector and Current Envelope Method for Diagnosis of Stator Winding Inter Turn Fault of Induction Motors

This paper presents a new efficient approach to analyse the inter turn stator winding fault in three phase induction motors. The proposed procedure is experimentally studied for normal and faulty cases of test motor at different loading conditions. Motor current signature analysis method is used along with stator current signature analysis methods namely park vectors and current envelope analysis which helps to extract the important information from the three-phase stator current signature. Statistical parameters are calculated of time domain from the each extracted signals. These computed statistical parameters strategy is able to distinguish between healthy and faulty conditions of test motor effectively.
