Resilient Active Distribution Networks Based on Remote Control Switches Reconfiguration

Today, due to intentional and unintentional events, the resilience and reliability of modern distribution networks is under attack. Reliable and quick service restoration (SR) strategy is a key factor to improve self-healing and resupplying out of service areas. This paper introduces an effective SR strategy which optimally sectionalizes network into self-supplied microgrids using remote control switches (RCSs) reconfiguration in fault conditions. The proposed method, including operational constraints such as radiality, load flow and objective function is fully formulated in a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model which is implemented using GAMS software and solved by CPLEX. Additionally, in order to consider uncertainties of PV outputs, Monte-Carlo simulation method is utilized to generate scenarios. Sequentially, fast-backward scenario reduction method is suggested to reduce computational burden while keeping solution accuracy. Efficiency of the proposed methodology is evaluated on a modified IEEE 69-bus test system.
