High Performance DC Motor Drive with Phase Locked Loop Regulation

The paper presents a dual mode system which combines the fast transient response, and unlimited lock and capture range capabilities of proportional speed control system (incorporating inner current control loop) with high speed accuracy of PLL drive. The detailed design considerations and experimental investigation of the drive are presented.
