Innovative Utility-Interactive D.C. TO A.C. Power Conditioning System

The design for an innovative utility-interactive Photovoltaic Power conditioning system is discussed. The objective for the proposed design is to attain an efficient (>90%) and harmonic free (>3%) current injection into an a.c. utility system. A novel active filt er at the output terminals of the d.c. source has been used in order to minimize 120 Hz harmonic currents entering into the d.c. source. The performance characteristics obtained from a laboratory prototype using bipolar transistor devices are discussed.
