Compact Flower Shape Super Wideband Antenna for mmWave Applications

A Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) fed compact flower shape monopole antenna for Super Wideband (SWB) applications is proposed in this paper. The dimension of the proposed antenna is
$22\times 19\text{mm}^{2}$
. The combination of flower shaped radiator and quarter elliptical ground plane is responsible for the super wide operating bandwidth of 3.7GHz to more than 60 GHz (
$\% \text{BW} \geq 176.76\%$
). The proposed structure is designed on FR-4 epoxy substrate by using CST Microwave Studio Software for simulation. The proposed structure has more than 2780.108 Bandwidth Dimension Ratio (BDR), which reflects it as a suitable applicant for a super wideband antenna. This wide bandwidth allows this antenna to operate for various practical applications including 5G communication (mm-Wave Technology), Internet of Things (IoT), Radar Cross Section (RCS), and many other future wireless communications. Further, monostatic Radar Cross Section (RCS) is analyzed using CST Microwave Studio Software and is in the range of -19.6dBsm to -46.93dBsm for incident angle
$\theta= 90^{\circ}$
and
$\phi= 0^{\circ}$
over entire frequency range.
