Optimizing Supply Chain Performance of SMEs through Big Data Analytic and IT-enabled Capabilities

Nowadays, several researchers are endeavoring to uncover the influence of innumerable evolving and innovative capabilities to comprehend the impact on distinct performances of enterprises across the world. Likewise, the research on big data and information technology is acquiring an intense concentration of scholars. This study investigates the relationships among big data analytics (BDA) and IT-enabled capabilities (ITE) on enterprises' supply chain performance (ESCP) within the realm of SMEs of developing nations like Pakistan based on RBV theory and practice. Using a survey method, this study probed the nexus based on 348 responses (n=438) obtained from mainstream cities of Pakistan, including the capital city between April 2022 to June 2022. SEM model along with supporting methods, i.e., discriminate and convergent validation was carried out using SPSS and SmartPLS tools. It is found, BDA has a positive connection with ESCP. Second, the study revealed a positive nexus between ITE and ESCP, respectively. This research endows with insights for supply chain management of SMEs on how the incorporation of appearing capabilities such as BDA and ITE could optimize business performance such as supply chain performance. Furthermore, this study equips several interesting implications along with additional work potentials for the researchers to assume in the future not only within Pakistan but across the world to validate the notion of BDA and ITE in different themes.
