Secondary Battery Energy Storage System Based on Real-Time Synchronous Data

With the popularity of electric vehicles, a large number of power batteries are facing retirement. This paper constructs the physical structure of secondary battery energy storage system based on real-time synchronous data (SBESS-RSD), fully exploring the residual value of retired batteries. After considering the differences of the secondary batteries, this paper establishes the working modes and dispatching plans such as direct connection, balancing maintenance and idle state, realizing the functions of power following, fluctuation smoothing, peak load shaving. Finally, this paper carries out field tests in areas with limited PV access. The test results proved that the SBESS-RSD could reduce the maximum peak-to-peak difference by 60%, the peak-to-valley difference of transformer load by 20%, and the transformer load rate by 12% through the peak-filling mode, which effectively supported the grid's absorption of distributed PV.
