An Electric Vehicle Charging Load Prediction Method Based on Travel Trajectory Characteristics

The charging load of electric vehicles (EVs) has stochastic distribution in the spatial-temporal dimensions. The integration of large-scale EVs brings new challenges to the operation and planning of power systems. In this paper, an EV charging load prediction method is proposed based on travel trajectory characteristics. First, we form the traffic network by dividing the geographical areas determined by their functions and simulate the original location of EVs described by Weibull probabilistic distribution. Then, considering the complex travel trajectories of different types of EVs, a charging load prediction model is constructed for private EVs and electric taxis. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is verified by predicting the charging load of EVs in the urban areas of Nanjing City.
