Research on Cable Accessories Voltage Measurement Based on Electric Field Inversion and Chebyshev Integral Method

Voltage measurement of high-voltage cable is a challenge nowadays. Using non-contact voltage measurement method, it is possible to measure the voltage of cable at a low cost and small volume. This paper proposes a new method to measure the voltage of cable by sticking the electric field sensor on the surface of the cable accessories. Using the Chebyshev integral, the voltage along the surface of the cable accessories can be calculated. To verify the feasibility of the method, this paper calculates electric field distribution by COMSOL Multiphysics. To get higher precision this paper chooses the interval with a high electric field value as the integrating range and compares the precision in the different number of sensors. The results shows that the error of the voltage measurement can be less than 1.5% based on Chebyshev integral using 5 to 6 sensors.
