Smart Cane For Blind People

A blind person finds it challenging to recognize obstacles in their path as they move from one spot to another. Moreover, if a stick is lost it is quite difficult to find it in the same spot. As a result, the smart cane is suggested as a treatment to help the blind go about their daily lives without the aid of others. Firstly, ultrasonic sensor detects obstacle then camera module starts detecting that object and gives the name of the obstacle through voice commands. Through voice commands or a microphone will help the blind person get where they are going. Camera module can also detect the faces of family members, relatives through voice commands gives the name of the person. The suggested method uses the Raspberry Pi as the controller. Every obstacle in front of the user can be detected. Maps are used in this smart cane to provide directions from the present position to the destination. If any accident happens it can detect by using accelerometer sensor and send a message and location to family members through telegram bot using internet of things. The smart cane is lightweight, user-friendly, responsive, consumes very little power, and is simple to grasp and fold.
