Towards A Map-Based Web Application for Prescribed Fire Simulation

Simulation of prescribed fire can provide useful information for users to learn prescribed fire behavior and plan prescribed fire events. To support prescribed fire simulation for a wide range of potential areas, this paper presents a map-based web application for prescribed fire simulation. The developed web application allows users to locate lands of interest on a map, define prescribed fire ignition procedures, run simulations, and see the simulation results. The system design and implementation of the map-based web application are described, and preliminary results are presented.
