An Energy Storage Capacity Configuration Method for New Energy Power Stations to Improve Power Grid Stability

In order to solve the problem of insufficient support for frequency after the new energy power station is connected to the system, this paper proposes a quantitative configuration method of energy storage to maintain the inertial support of the system frequency before and after the new energy power station is connected. First, an investigation of features of frequency response in power systems is given and then we form the control model of energy storage. Based on those models, an energy storage capacity configuration method for new energy stations is proposed. Finally, simulation results on a practical tested system reveal the validity of the proposed method.
