PBL an Inductive Approach: Case study in India

In the constant changing needs of the industry, the survival of the engineering graduates is more and more dependent on the deeper knowledge of the core subjects with the exploration of the real time problems and finding their possible solutions. Traditional classroom teaching is more on listening, writing and remembering in India. This paper addresses a dynamic approach to achieve higher levels of Bloom’s taxonomy i.e. Project Based Learning (PBL). The paper presents the key factors involved in Project Based Learning and various challenges in the implementation of PBL. This paper also presents the student’s perspective on PBL after implementation of PBL in Basic Electronics course running in First year Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering branch. This work also strives to present Teachers’ view on PBL. The results after implementation the PBL in classroom reveal that students’ motivation level increases the learning the technical concepts through experience.
