Power Quality Enhancement In Multi-Microgrids Using Hybrid Energy Storage System

Energy storage is used to share reactive power in imbalanced multiple microgrids (MMG) and develop a new multi-function control system that enhances voltage and power quality. A power balancing regulator and reactive power compensation are both included in the multipurpose control system. As an alternative, either injecting or absorbing power through the energy storage system (ESS) minimizes the reactive power sharing defect among MMG. The proposed system is used to compensate for voltage regulation and balance three phase power of point common coupling connector. It is advised to combine the backtracking algorithm with reactive power compensation to increase system security. In addition to the algorithm's inherent anti-windup, a regulator for power balance is also made. The MATLAB real-time simulator was used to test the microgrid system using a single-phase photovoltaic system and a load connected to an unbalanced three-phase photovoltaic system.
