AI based Gesture Controlled Smart Bionic Arm

Handling the hazardous chemicals in the industry is a tedious process. In industries, workers will use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while handling those hazardous chemicals, but itdoes not give full protection. Carelessness of the humans, while using those chemicals, also cause many accidents. In this paper, to overcome these issues and to avoid human intervention while handling the chemicals, an AI based bionic – arm have been proposed, which repeats the actions done by the operator. The proposed bionic arm is been 3d – printed, which will be resemble a human hand. The 3d Printed robotic hand is controlled using Arduino micro controller and five servo motors in which each finger will be controlled by one servo motor. The actions of the operator’s handis sensed by a camera which is connected to a personal computer, the actions done by the human hand will be compared in the OPENCV software and the commands to control the 3d Printed bionic arm will be transmitted to the Arduino micro controller through serial communication
