Recycling Methods for Crystalline Silicon Solar Panels

Solar panels are used to utilize solar energy and life of solar panel is around 25 to 30 years. Landfilling option is used for end-of-life (EOL) PV Modules. However, it contains dangerous and non-biodegradable materials, which, if improperly recycled, may contaminate the environment in a number of ways, so recycling is necessary. The end of a PV module's life cycle has been examined and analyzed using a variety of methodologies in a several of research studies. Various research publications have identified some drawbacks, such as harmful emissions during certain processes, reduced process complexity, imperfect process efficiency, energy requirements, and usage of harmful chemicals. This article provides different methods of recycling of crystalline silicon solar panel investigated by various researchers, industries. Using a series of mechanical, thermal & chemical processes, acceptable recycling methods for crystalline silicon solar cells are listed in this paper with different efficiencies of recycling.
