Abstract:
Emerging technologies have resulted in the development of portable point of care devices, telemedicine systems and Artificial Intelligence (AI) based consultations to improve health outcomes and patient engagement through Clinical Decision Support Systems, personal and population analytics. This paper aims to deploy an Internet of Things (IoT) enabled Smart Healthcare System for accessing healthcare anywhere and anytime in India. Health Systems deployed in the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) telemedicine network. These systems are in use at primary hospitals and large public events/mela for providing health service to understand the effectiveness of pre-screening at remote places where there is always a shortage of trained health professionals and explore challenges & issues with potential solutions for its effective implementation. Data captured through sensors connected to portable devices and mobile kiosks has successfully shared and have brought down cost in consultation, cost efficiency, improvement in treatment accuracy and diagnosis. It is useful in screening patients and making healthcare services more accessible anywhere and anytime. In future smart healthcare systems have the potential to transform health care delivery, making it more accessible, affordable and effective. Stand-alone systems for crowd places like shopping complexes, railway or bus stations need flexibility of integrated health systems where minimum technical assistance needed.
