A Systematic Examination of Decentralized Ledger Applications using Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric Models in a Blockchain Network

Blockchain networks are growing cumulatively day by day in various forms of application domains. It has become the major choice for the present and forthcoming security considerations in the fields of public, private, and economical sectors. Along with these sectors, domains like Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Internet-of-Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Edge Computing, and Data Science etc. are migrating towards blockchain for better security replacements. A blockchain net- work is a distributed digital ledger that creates a sequence of blocks to store enormous data cryptographically. Data Encryptability, Data Transparency, Data Reliability, Data Integrity, and Data Immutability are a few of the important pedestals of blockchain. Apart from these, there exist many tools and API's to establish such networks in a variety of flavors. Our contribution to this paper is twofold: First, to establish blockchain networks using two network models like Ethereum and Hyperledger fabric. Second, to examine the performance of two network models regarding a few domain parameters by running applications with minimum hardware configurations. A conclusion is made about the suitability and sustainability of such models in applications that range from small to larger enterprise scales. Finally, the paper concludes with a brief discussion of difficulties, burden, and risks that annoys the developers of blockchain networks.
