Quatitative Platelet Parameters In Normal and Cancer Patients -A Comparative Analysis

Cancer is a condition that can spread to different parts of the body and is brought on by abnormal cell proliferation. Tobacco usage, ionising radiation exposure, and excessive alcohol use are the main causes of cancer. The TNM staging system, which incorporates tumor, node, and metastasis stages, is commonly used to assess the severity of cancer, while grade, tumor markers, and genetics also impact cancer staging. Mean platelet volume, a measure of average platelet size, is a valuable biomarker for diagnosing and monitoring cancer. Normal platelet volumes range between 9.4 and 12.3 femtoliters, and the normal platelet count is between 150,000 and 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood. Platelet distribution width is another platelet index that assesses uniformity of platelet size. This study aims to compare platelet parameters in cancer patients with those of healthy patients to identify differences across different types of cancer.
