Knowledge Attitude And Practice Of Disinfection Of Gutta Percha Among Post Graduate Dental Students

This study aims to analyze the awareness of dis-infection of gutta percha, a material used in root canal treatments, among postgraduate dental students. The potential for contamination of gutta percha during manufacturing, handling, and storage can lead to complications during dental procedures. A survey was conducted using an online Google form link distributed to 100 postgraduate dental students, and descriptive statistics were performed to analyze the frequency and percent-ages of variables such as age, sex, location, and gender. The study found that 100% of participants were aware of the need for disinfection of gutta percha. The results also indicate that there is a significant association between age and awareness of disinfection (p ¡ 0.05), with older participants demonstrating greater awareness. The study highlights the importance of proper disinfection practices in dental procedures and the need for ongoing education and training in this area. Further research could explore the effectiveness of different disinfection methods for gutta percha and their impact on patient outcomes.
