Air Quality Management and Health Monitoring System for Truck drivers

The right to a healthy working environment including clean air, water, and safer working zones is the fundamental right of the employees. People working in mines including the truck drivers are subjected to haze environments. The working model of Air quality management inside the truck driver’s cabinet and health monitoring system for the truck driver is indispensable for the smooth operation of the fleet. This system is primarily designed to eliminate the air pollutant present inside the driver’s cabinet by an effective method of using an air sucker and mini-ESP (Electro Static Precipitator). The presence of air pollutants is detected by the gas sensor (MQ-135) and automates the process of dust elimination. Besides this, other parameters like Temperature and Humidity, Heart rate, and Oxygen saturation are also collected by the data acquisition system and are sent to the fleet manager via IoT. The microcontroller (node MCU) is used both as a data acquisition system as well as a wi-fi module. Multiple sensors are interfaced with this microcontroller via a 16-channel multiplexer. The proposed outcome of this project is to ensure a healthy working environment and the safety of the driver. This in turn is incorporated by the fleet management to monitor the exact health condition of the driver to make shift scheduling of the next trip.
