Charging station slot booking system using IoT

Now, people are moving towards Electric vehicles to prevent our environment from hazardous. It has become a suitable substitute for Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles. Though the movement of Electric vehicles has been enhanced still some major problems are faced while using Electric vehicles. One of the issues is the unavailability of slots in Electric vehicle charging stations. So it requires more time for charging an Electric Vehicle. To overcome the problem an IoT based slot booking in Electric Vehicle charging station is proposed. The proposed Electric Vehicle charging station system consists of an on-site deployment of an IoT module that is used to monitor and signalize the state of availability of each slots in Electric Vehicle Charging station. It enables the user to find the availability of slots in the Charging station. If the slot is booked the vehicle details are stored. The booking can be done in two ways either on a web page or using an RFID registration tag. The user can set the timing for charging the Electric Vehicle. After the completion of time, only the booked vehicle can leave the charging station. Once the vehicle is charged the message is sent to the user’s registered mobile number through the IoT technique. Hence it is a theft-free charging station and reduces the charging time of Electric Vehicle users. The proposed project increases Electric Vehicle usage and prevents the environment from fuel consumption.
