A Comparative Analysis on the Conventional Methods, Benefits of Recycling the Spent Lithium-ion Batteries with a Special focus on Ultrasonic Delamination.

Lithium-ion batteries have made portable gadgets mainstream, and electric automobiles may soon follow. The world is on track to manufacture a stack of spent Li-ion batteries weighing several million metric tonnes, some of which may end up in the trash. Despite being valuable and recyclable, less than 5% of batteries are now recycled for practical, monetary, and other reasons. Both lithium-ion and lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries commonly contain high-grade copper and aluminium. Rare earths and transition metals cobalt and nickel may also be present, depending on the active substance. Procedures for recycling lithium batteries are necessary to enable these technologies to have a long life cycle and avoid a future cobalt, nickel, and lithium shortage. Due to the impending size of the spent-battery situation, researchers are searching for reasonably priced, environmentally friendly alternatives to deal with the massive stockpile of Li-ion batteries that is looming in the distant. The methods, trends, and difficulties of recycling lithium-ion batteries will be discussed in this research by paying special attention on ultrasonic Delamination.
