Abstract:

This paper present and describes the new method of gate driver for power MOSFET and IGBT based inverter and other applications. If opto-coupler based gate driver circuit, it need individual power supply of every optocoupler, it is a main drawback of this gate driver method. In this proposed method, it eliminates the drawback through single power supply and it can drives number of power MOSFET and IGBTs. One of the advantage of this method is the opto-coupler can also reduces one or more power MOSFET or IGBT has trigger with same sequence. It is also suitable for PWM technique. In this proposed gate driver circuit it can drive all type of inverter like half bridge, full bridge, three phase inverters in 180° & 120° conduction mode and different multilevel inverters. This proposed circuit simulates proteus professional environment and prototype hardware implementation carried through to verify the real time performance.
