Design of Memory FAT file System for Airborne Sensors

The airborne sensing data storage system completely saves the raw data and result data of large data rate, which could solve the problem that the transmission bandwidth between stars and earth is far less than the data rate, among which file management is one of the key technologies affecting the storage speed. According to the problem that original FAT file system managemant’s FAT table and FDT table are updated too frequently, resulting in long response times, therefore, a file management optimization method,—FAT table and FDT table quantitative post-configuration, is proposed. The FAT table is updated for every 128 clusters of data written, and one FAT table is updated for every written file to reduce the update time of FAT table and FDT table, thus improving the storage speed of airborne sensors. Through the experimental test and analysis, the proposed method can reduce the file management time to below 1/128, and significantly improve the file storage rate. Therefore, this method should have important application value and research significance in the airborne storage system.
